Can we leave cat at home for vacation?

We're going on a very short vacation for 4 days. The cat is a 5 year old maine coon. Already have someone to watch him but would it be better to leave him at home alone with a neighbor checking up on him once ot twice a day or move him to a new place for 4 days with someone always there to watch him? Thanks!
