7th Grade Question about Meiosis?

During meiosis, DNA is copied, then the logous chromosomes are separated in meiosis 1. Afterward, the chromosomes are split in two, during meiosis 2. The reason for the difference in DNA is that logous chromosomes, while they share the same genes, contain different specific sequences of DNA. Thus, when the chromosomes are split, there is different DNA on each half of the chromosome.
