How soon were you able to test and get a bfp?

Okay so im about 99% positive that I ovulated either last night or sometime today. This is my 1st time ever ttc, so im realy excited. I was using an OPK because this is my 1st month off the pill and wanted to see if n when I'd ovulate. Well, I got my surge tues n yesterday, plus I've had the EWCM. So im pretty positive ovulation happened. Now, I'd be due for my next AF on or about 9/11. How soon were you all able to test and get your bfp? Poor hubby thought I'd be able to take a test like tomorrow or the day after n get a positive, lol. Had to explain it to him. But I am very anxious to test, but I dont want to do it too soon. Should I wait til like a week after AF is supposed to come, if it doesnt? Or right when it should? Thanks ladies!
