What are birth customs for Islamic women?

I am just curious. I see a lot of (presumably) Islamic women at my doctors office, and I am just wondering what the childbirth customs of Muslim women are. I am mainly curious why there are so many at this specific clinic. I am only 26 and don't feel that I am old enough to approach and ask someone myself. I am really curious because I have very specific customs that I personally found hard to find a doctor that would be respectful of my choices.
